Although the number of monitoring stations has increased and improved, the actual frequencies of earthquakes remain the same.
Throughout the history of earthquake records, there have been three since 1837 that have caused damage to Adelaide. The South Australian government website states that the three events happened in 1897, 1902, and 1954. The smallest of the three earthquakes occurred in 1954, but it was the closest to Adelaide and the most damaging.
